Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards

These awards celebrate the contribution that woodlands can make to the people, environment and economic prosperity of Scotland

The excellent 2019 Awards’ Programme is now closed with more entries than last year!

Our biggest range of Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards competitions’ deadline has now passed.  We are closed for entries until the turn of the year when we’ll re-open for the 2020 Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards’ Programme!

We, at Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards, are excited to share with you that our biggest ever Awards Programme this year has attracted one of the highest ever number of entries.  A great big thank-you to all those who have entered this year’s exciting competitions!

The judges are now busy assessing entries and when these are short-listed they will contact the relevant entrants directly to confirm site visits.

There are 10 wonderful trophies to be presented to winners including two new especially commissioned trophies.  Other entrants who have submitted exceptionally high quality entries might be considered for a special commendation award at the judges’ discretion.

This year’s line-up of six Awards and 10 competitions is our largest programme ever!   There is a category for everyone involved in managing woods and forests with, especially for 2019,  a unique one-off Award to mark the centenary of the 1919 Forestry Act.  In addition, we are excited to be able to expand the Farm Woodland Award into two categories, especially creating a new competition for young people.  We also have categories for communities, new native and commercial woods, quality timber and schools anywhere in Scotland.   More information can be found here.

For now patience is required until those being awarded are announced at the special, celebratory 2019 Awards Ceremony on Friday 21st June!  Soon after then the winners will be announced on this website for all to enjoy, appreciate and share their celebrations!
