These awards celebrate the contribution that woodlands can make to the people, environment and economic prosperity of Scotland

The largest ever Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards for 2019 are NOW OPEN!

A fantastic and expanded round of competitions for 2019 with fabulous prizes are now open for entries.  The prestigious 2019 Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards Programme is the best yet!

There is something for everyone with six categories: unique for 2019 is the one-off 1919 Forestry Act Centenary Award to mark the centenary of this important Forestry Act that has helped influence the way Scotland’s trees, woods and forests have been managed and nurtured over the past 100 years.

Introduced in 2018, the Farm Woodland Award is now expanded into two competitions for an active farmer/crofter anywhere in Scotland and also a new competition especially for young people whether the active farmer/crofter and/or their forester/woodland manager or one person in both roles!

The Community Woodlands (two competitions – small and large woodland groups), New Native WoodsQuality Timber (three competitions – new commercial wood, multi-purpose forest or whole estate, and a single stand or compartment or small wood) and Schools Awards also operate.

Entries can be from anywhere in Scotland and full details are available at the Awards section of this website. If you need inspiration or wish to see who won in 2018 look at the Roll of Honour and/or list of previous winners.
