Trophy for Climate Change Champion

About

New in 2021 and to mark the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) held in Glasgow, the Climate Change Champion Award demonstrates ‘on the ground’ how Scotland’s forests and woodlands can have an important role in mitigating, and responding to, climate change. CarbonStore commissioned the superb hand-carved trophy which they generously sponsored from 2021 – 2023. This exciting Award aims to discover the very best examples of such woodlands and how knowledge and experience can be shared to raise awareness. The Award has been developed with specialist independent guidance from Forest Research, Great Britain’s principal organisation for forestry and tree-related research. The competition is open to entrants across Scotland as a direct option and as an additional opportunity for any entry into one of the other established Award categories which satisfies the entry criteria.
